Kingdown School is looking to appoint a highly skilled First Aid and Welfare Officer to join its dedicated team and provide medical care and day-to-day welfare support to students. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced individual with a clear understanding of the importance of safeguarding and pastoral care in keeping children and young people safe.
Required: September 2024. Working Hours: Part-time (37 hours, Monday to Friday, 41 weeks per year – term-time plus two weeks, includes Teacher Training Days).

The successful candidate will be part of our exceptional pastoral team and will be highly organised, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-moving environment.
You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring a safe, effective and efficient first aid and medical assistance is provided to students and staff;
- Ensuring students signing in and out for the day are accurately recorded;
- Ensuring the administrative functions of our Students Welfare area are kept up to date.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an experienced and qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN);
- Has studied to a minimum standard of GCSE (grade A*- C) or equivalent in English and Maths;
- Is able to build and form good relationships with colleagues and students;
- Has experience working with children and young people;
- Is able to work effectively as part of a team;
- Has a good working knowledge of ICT systems (including Microsoft);
- Has experience of working in a school environment (desirable);
- Has a clear understanding of the importance of safeguarding and pastoral care in keeping children and young people safe;
- Is well-presented with a professional approach, maintaining utmost discretion and confidentiality.
